Surgical Scrub
Preparation (povidone iodine, chlorhexidine gluconate)
Wound dressings: Gauze sponges, Telfa pads
Bandage material:
- 12 sheet cottons
- 2, lIb packages of roll cotton
- 2-6 Vetrap bandages or similar
- 4-8 cloth leg wraps
US Army field bandage (app 22"X24")
Do not use white tape for wrapping legs, it does not expand.
Eye cover/protection
Clean Trash Bag:use as clean liner for bucket for water for wound care |

Antiseptic
ointment: Betadine or similar
Silvadene or similar
"triple antibiotic" ointments
Other medications: to be based on your vets
recommendation
ie: Bute, Banamine, oral & injectable antibiotics,
tranquilizer
These should all be stored in a waterproof
storage case. Remember to keep this at barn and to take it with you when you
trailer. If you trail ride often you may consider making a small saddle pack
size first aid kit. |
